Francis W. Parker School: Site Design and Development
Back in 1999, Parker's existing web site fell far short of its stellar nationwide reputation. This private JK-12 school in the heart of Lincoln Park (a beautiful Chicago neighborhood) was approaching its centennial celebration. Parents and alumni would be looking to the site for current information on what Parker was all about. Seneca created a vibrant, exciting site that clearly communicated the school's sophistication and child-centered philosophy of progressive education. The home page's three large photo/text rollovers are easily updated by Parker's webmaster to reflect current news. Numerous photo tours throughout help site visitors get a feel for the school from far away. Extensive sections for Admissions and Parents are particularly successful, allowing current and prospective parents to download forms and publications, volunteer for committees, register for events and purchase school items. The Parker site is an ongoing project, as a number of constituencies (e.g., alumni, development) are "waiting in line" for their section of the site to go live. Visit the live site: |
