I just wanted to tell you BIG THANKS! for your article on InCopy in InDesign magazine. The Introduction almost made me cry! Last issue of our university magazine had 6 (six!) proofs and some corrections came in Word files (I really wanted to kill somebody for that!:) so I started to look around to see if that InCopy-thing can help me out. It looks very promising. I will have to find out if InDesign CS can work flawlessly with InCopy CS2. Thanks a lot!

Dear H.G.,
I recently re-joined your mailing list, and am reminded how much I enjoyed it. It is not only enjoyable but useful, too, for us poor wretches toiling in the dim light of pre-press departments to overhear echoes of the conversations of our betters up in Creative.

In No. 58, for example, you elegantly explain why I have only *usually* been able to save Illustrator artists' rears in the matter of pixillated drop shadows by raising their document's Raster Effects setting. Aha! -- When said fix fails it's because they've created the wretched drop shadow with the Filter command instead of the Stylize. Doesn't change the fact that the problem is mine, not theirs, but there is comfort in knowing how it came about and perhaps I will get my reward in heaven for at least having so earnestly tried to fix it.

And the witty ease of such paragraphs as your "Oh, and we have XML, which is not quite the same thing ... holy water just in case," is a delight.

First of all a big 'Thanks you' for all your good tips and tricks. It is such a pleasure to read trough your newsletter and get to know all this special trick, hidden secrets and other things worth knowing.

As a graphic designer I'm having a great interest in everything that makes my life simpler and easier. This gives me more time for the creative side of things idea without worrying about technical stuff. But I'm always amazed how hard it is to get good tips with even some explaining background information.

Your 'Raster Resolution Tips in Illustrator' in the current newsletter was such a revelation and thanks to your full instructions of how to fix this problem for ever this will never again happen to me.

Your article on the behavior of EPS files in InDesign has me clicking my heels. It will save me hours in the future. I only wish I had read it earlier. A couple sliders in the preferences. Who knew?
