Seneca's president and creative director, Anne-Marie Concepción, is a long-time Adobe Certified Independent Trainer and a Quark Authorized Training Consultant, based in Chicago and offering training nationwide. She and her associate trainers teach the Mac and Windows versions of InDesign, InCopy, Photoshop, Acrobat, GoLive, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, Macintosh OS X, Apple and Microsoft software in other words, the software that she and staff use every day in the real world for real client projects. Those who can, teach! A Training Style that Reaches Every StudentAnne-Marie's a natural teacher just ask any of her hundreds of design and publishing alumni, some of whose letters and photos can be found throughout this section. Her style is patient, relaxed, and informal, but always on-target and always with her signature sense of humor. She loves what she does and it shows. Think how much you'll learn from someone who's not just an expert user, but an expert teacher!
With your new-found expertise, you'll find your own creativity unleashed on every project you undertake from then on. Get stuck? Don't worry, Anne-Marie includes three years of 24/7 follow-up support for every student. On average, she spends half her worklife using the software, and the other half teaching it. And that's exactly how she likes it. Anne-Marie draws on her fifteen+ years experience using this software to present her instruction in ways that you as a designer or production staffer will immediately understand. You learn not just how to use the software, but how to use it in combination with other software, and how to make it all come together for your print and web projects. Because she was also a teacher in a former life (she has a master's degree in Education from Northwestern University), she's able to pace the instruction in concert with your gradual mastery of each new skill, and to adapt her training style to a variety of learning styles and backgrounds. You'll Learn By DoingHer training sessions are a careful combination of talking, listening, seeing and doing. It's the opposite of the all-too-typical "this button does this, this button does that" lecture type of training. In fact, you'll find that for at least one-third of the training session, you are on the computer actually using the software, with Anne-Marie gently coaching you as you go, in exercises customized for your skill level and the kinds of projects you need to learn how to do (and using your own files!). Which means more content is covered faster, and sticks with you longer, than is true with the usual, canned-presentation type of training. You'll Receive Unprecedented Follow-up SupportAnd you're not left on your own when the session is over. Like all her students, you'll receive three years of follow-up support from Anne-Marie by phone or e-mail. That's 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (students receive her home and office numbers). In other words, by hiring Anne-Marie to teach you the software, you're gaining your own personal consultant at your beck and call for the next three years! Think of the time and money you'll save the next time a project is delayed because you or one of your staff members can't figure out how to make the program do what you need and tech support is closed or wants to charge you $25.99 to answer a simple question. You Can Choose Where and When Your Training Takes PlaceMost of our training is conducted at your site (at your workstations or in a conference room) in schedule-friendly half-day sessions for one to ten+ people. We can also train up to three students at a time at Seneca's studio, or we can book any one of a number of Mac or PC classrooms for larger groups that prefer to learn off-site. Can't afford the travel fees or can't leave the office? Book an hour or three of live web-based training from Anne-Marie or one of our associate trainers. Your group can see the instructor's screen and she can see yours. All you need is a web browser and a phone and you're good to go! Please visit the other pages in this section to learn more about the specific software Anne-Marie and her associate trainers teach; on-site, studio, classroom, and web-based scheduling and fees; candid pictures of our training sessions; our 24/7 student support, and the custom and open enrollment seminars Anne-Marie is currently offering in Chicago and other U.S. cities. Or if you'd prefer to cut to the chase, just give her a call at 312-946-1100, or use the Request a Quote form to describe your training needs.
